A part of the American Trails Advancing Trails Webinar Series, “Protect What You Love: Water Trail Ambassador and Stewardship Programs“ will explore how the best water trails link outdoor recreation to conservation and stewardship opportunities. This a symbiotic relationship between recreating on waterways and protecting them doesn’t occur without effort. This webinar will explore water trail ambassador programs from coast to coast. Presenters will detail two programs that train and deploy volunteer ambassadors to raise awareness around watershed protection. Additionally, a “Best of the Rest” presentation will highlight a number of short-term and long-term stewardship efforts around the country. The webinar will explore all levels of ambassador and stewardship programs, ranging from single-day clean-ups to ongoing efforts.
